Kevin McAllister: Someone Who Changes the World Every Day
My
father, Kevin McAllister is a family court lawyer in the Bronx. He represents
poor people in family court and criminal court. He deals with People who have
problems with their families either because they have problem with child
welfare authorities or another parent of a child in common. He’s been a lawyer
for xx years
Being a family
court lawyer matters because there are many problems custody of children or
protection and people deserve to have lawyer speak for them so that their positions
can be presented to the judge or jury. Being a lawyer matters because it’s necessary
to use lawyers to accomplish certain things that need to be done in life. My
father helps many poor people no access to lawyers to advise them about legal
issues he helps people who otherwise wouldn’t have a lawyer in cases.
Examples of my
father’s accomplishments are, helping people be reunited with children, helping
people avoid convictions in criminal cases, and assisting parents to gain access
and visitation time to children who don’t live with them. He recently helped a
grandmother in New Jersey get order of custody so that she could continue to
live with her granddaughter so that her granddaughter could finish high school
and apply for college after her mother had died. My father thinks he changes
the world everyday because he’s able to assist poor people in a place where
they would otherwise be powerless and to advocate for their own positions where
they otherwise wouldn’t be able.
My father Kevin
McAllister changes the world everyday because he provides a basic right to
people who can’t afford a lawyer.
