1. All through the forest the sun was shining as the bunnies at school played hide and seek at recess. All but one bunny played hide and seek at recess. His name was Ted. Ted was excluded from the other bunny’s games and often made fun of for his oddly colored fur.

2. Ted really wanted to play hide and seek with the other bunnies. One day Ted asked if he could play hide and seek. “Excuse can I join the game?” The other bunny faced Ted and said, “Your fur is weird and I don’t want the other bunnies grossed out by you so no.”

3. Ted went home and stared at himself in the mirror thinking. “Maybe I am ugly.” “Were the other bunnies right? Is my fur weird?” Ted had always liked his fur but now he wasn’t so sure.

4. The next day Ted went into school trying to cover his fur as much as possible when he saw the poster for the school hide and seek team. Ted got very excited.

5. Ted ran to the sign up sheet for the team. He saw that he got the last space on the team as he rushed to sign up. When he wrote his name he felt good like he was part of something and not worrying what his fur looked like.

6. The next day Ted got up early and brushed his teeth and ate breakfast super fast. His mom asked why he was in such a hurry. He replied, “I have hide and seek practice today. He was kind of nervous though because he did not know if he was good at it or not because none of the other bunnies let him play he imagined letting the team down.

7. Ted is feeling good as the last bell rings. He managed to push the thoughts of letting the team down out of his head. He rushes outside. All of the bunnies on the team are in a circle as he rushes out of the building.

8. The bunnies in the circle turn around and say great he joined and oh my god why. The coach says, “alright, enough.”

9. The coach says that the big hide and seek tournament is tomorrow and that they should all get their rest and Ted can hardly contain himself. He runs home and goes to bed fast.

10. The next day the whole team meets up in the forest. They see the other team. They start the game and Ted does really well and no one can find him. Teds teammates who got out even start cheering him on.

11. The final buzzer rings as the other team runs out of time to find Ted because his fur camouflages him very well. Ted runs out so happy that he won.

12. Teds teammates lift him above them as they chant his name. On rabbit says, “Hey your fur is really cool.” And, “Dude I wish I had fur like yours.”

13. At home Ted looks at his fur in the mirror and wonders why he ever questioned how cool his fur was. He was happy that the other rabbits finally accepted his differences.
